Tuscaloosa Stake Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints Emergency Preparedness Summary

Stake Emergency Preparedness Plan Outline
In order to be self-reliant members of the Bessemer Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day should be prepared, organized as individuals, families, and church units for a variety of emergencies or disasters that will happen. As we become prepared to be self-reliant we are prepared to help others both physically and spiritually in our area. Building faith is a critical aspect of preparation as trials are a reality in the world we live. The scriptures teach: "if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear" (D&C 38:30) We start gaining confidence in being self-reliant by showing faith in the Lord as we pay a full-tithe and an honest fast offering.

Key areas to plan for:

Emergency Preparedness Family Council
Families should meet periodically to plan how best to serve each other during challenging times.

Lessons should be held during family home evenings, or on other days, to help family members become more aware of emergency response and self-reliance.

Make plans to teach your family roles and family responsibilities that might be required when needed.
